Does home staging really work?

Yes – in fact, many savvy buyers will only tour staged homes because they know the staged homes will give them what it is they’re looking for: a clean, open space without the personalization of the current owner.

Isn’t home staging just a matter of cleaning the house and burning a candle during the showings?

Those are both very good things to do, but they do not by any means constitute home staging. Staged homes go far beyond candles and cleanliness. Your professional home stager will have an eye for details in your home that you wouldn’t have thought of. Home stagers are trained to show buyers what they want in a house. It’s simply stunning to see a well-staged home on the day of the first open house, when dozens of excited buyers get to “ooh” and “aah” over it for the first time.

Isn’t home staging expensive, like hiring an interior designer?

No, actually home staging is quite affordable. You can get a consultation for $150-$250, while a light staging may be in the $500-800 range. More involved home staging could a several thousand dollars, but that would be in the case of larger homes that would be requiring very thorough staging work. You simply can’t compare home staging fees with those charged by interior designers . Home staging is an investment you make in your home that translates into a bigger profit on your home sale.

No. We don’t have any organizations to join. We send all of our Members the Staging Source Newsletter (delivered via e-mail) to keep you posted on staging news, get ideas on marketing, see before and after photos, and more. We also have a free staging referral service. Whenever we have a special request for a stager in your area I’ll let you know. You can always join other home staging associations if you want to, but clients don’t usually ask about this, in my experience.

Do I have to pay extra if I need help after I finish your home staging course?

The Staging Source does not charge any of its graduates for needing a little extra help. Why would we? We’re here to support you, not charge you outrageous fees for answering a few questions. We treat you the way we would want to be treated.

How long will your home staging course take?
